Habitat for Humanity of Greater Lowell will be building two homes in the new Juniper Hill development off Graniteville Road in Westford. The construction on one of these homes will begin in June 2017 with an anticipated closing date of December 2017. The construction of the second home is scheduled to begin in the winter of 2017-2018 with a closing date of Fall 2018. Depending on your income, the sales price for these three bedroom homes will range between $160-$185K, with estimated payments of $850-$1,000/month for a 30 year mortgage with taxes, insurance & HOA. Run, walk, or volunteer to end mental health stigma at Advocates 4th Annual See Me 5K on Saturday, May 6th. Help spread the message that a person experiencing mental health challenges is a person, not a diagnosis. See the person! See the individual!

Given that many residents are unaware that there have been discussions of the potential for a new High School, CBA and CMAA have organized forums for residents to hear more and discuss and give feedback.
The discussion will take place on 3/22 at the Lowell Senior Center on Broadway and on 3/23 at CMAA’s building on School St.

Dinner with Our Docs: Women and Heart Disease
More women die every year of heart disease than from all types of cancer combined. Sadly only 13% of them are aware that it is the number one killer of women. Join Dr. Miret Ibrahim, board-certified cardiologist, and learn the difference between fact and fiction when it comes to heart disease and women.
Attendees will hear about the different signs and symptoms of heart disease and heart attack experienced by women, as well as, risk reduction and prevention.
A heart healthy dinner will be provided.
Just Be (Dazzled) with Carmen Carrera
Transgender model and actress Carmen Carrera has dedicated her activism to making it better for trans people. Now, Carmen is working with History UnErased (HUE) to bring real, valid and enduring equality through the process of K-12 education. JUST BE (DAZZLING) with Carmen Carrera Gala supports HUE’s groundbreaking work to prepare K-12 schools to infuse LGBTQ history and academic content in core subjects. Monies raised will provide scholarships for K-12 educators to attend HUE’s educator trainings – directly impacting countless youth and creating safer schools and communities. Options to sponsor specific schools and K-12 educators will be available. (History UnErased is a licensed MA Department of Education professional learning and development provider with the express purpose of preparing K-12 schools to integrate LGBTQ-inclusive academic content.)
